The new Sunny roof

On Wednesday we made a  new Sunny roof.  It had a sun roof. It had 8 nitro boosters.  It was hard to make. 1. We had to make the body. 2. We had to put the wheels on it. It kind of looked like a van . 3.  We put the windows then we put the roof and we put the radiator then we put the engine. 4. Kapa Haka

  Havana and Tayla went to the Michael Fowler Centre last night. There was 1007 kids there. We were in the Kapa Haka Group. It was fun and exciting.

Backly the Bad Bear

We watched The Birthday Burglar and we read Beaten By a Balloon and the Jamie wrote this story. How many "b" words did she use?

Once upon a time there lived a bear called Backly. He was a bad bear but he was brave. Backly stole stuff from the bank. He had bad behaviour! He lived on a brown bank with his bus and his bee. His bee was called Ben, and another bee called Benjimen. Benjimen was brave like Backly, but Ben was weak like a bun. Backly decided he couldn't stay with them so Ben went back to his room and packed his bag. He was glum.
Backly and Benjimen were lonely without Ben so they went out to find him. They couldn't find Ben anywhere. They looked in every bee hive. They even found his brother, but not him.
Backly found a bird on duck shooting day. The bird was called Bean. Bean was bored of being a messenger bird. Backly took him home in a box.

At discovery Shannen and me made a electicity bolt. We had to put the wire in the right place. I got a shock from the electricity. It was hard. We put a buzzer on it and we used 4 batteries together.  It was really really really really bright. It was fun to make. It took the whole of  discovery to make it.                                      
                                                                                     

Tawa goes to Town by William Y.

Last night we went to Tawa goes to Town. We saw our people from Hampton Hill School. I saw my  brother, and Jamie's brother, and Krishan's brother. I saw people singing nicely. But my brother Jason is getting a bit tired.I liked the show because there were a lot of songs in the list. It took us a long time to get home. We got home at twenty past ten. There were a lot of children in there. There were more then 100, or more than 200,or 300s.

Nonstop Nonsense

Here are some of our thoughts about the show.

I liked the part when the old lady married the man. - Havana

I liked the queen because she sounded funny. She is the girl who sucked her fingers. I lilked the cooking person. - Litania

The best story I liked was the Birthday Burglar - Tayla

I liked the Nonstop Nonsense show because it was interesting. The girl who was telling the story was Margaret Mahy. - Georgia

I liked it when the people said "oooo Mum!!" It was funny because they said it in a funny way. Me and Taryn laughed. - Jade

I liked the Birthday Burglar because it is about a person who steals birthdays. My feelings are it is interesting. They used actions and did great jobs. - William Y

Using the Bluescreen

This time, no body !

These colours worked well.

We did our shows in front of the bluescreen. Some of our shots worked and others were not so good. We found out that pink and some blues turn invisible so some of our puppets had see-through bodies, and holes in their heads. We well remember that for the next time we use the blue screen.

Powhiri

Ms Bray-Burns started at our school today. We had a powhiri to welcome her. The Kapa Haka group were wonderful!

Maths

We are learning to share by making equal groups. We read Muffins at the fair and worked out how many muffins each animal had after they had shared.

At school

Today I went into the magic bus two times. People got to have a turn on the drums, but on my second turn in the magic bus it was funner. The drummers let us have about six dififerent people play the drums. Some drummers played some songs as well.and even people wanted me to have a go on the drums. Logen,Stephen and Damion all got a turn on the drums. I didn't want a turn, I was to scared to have a turn. I didn't want a turn because people would laugh at me.  Jamie didn't want to do it either. They had lots of things in the bus. Some drummers helped the little kids play their songs, but after the bell rang we all got to go up. It was cool because the songs were loud.and it was cool lining up. I went into the bus with Sophie and Jamie.  In the bus Sophie told me that she liked Stephens song and Logens song. I liked Logens song and Stephens song. In the bus I was sitting next to Jamie, Sophie was sitting next to me as well. In the bus there were drums and seats.  After getting out we went back in class. We did some writing about any thing. Then we had play time. I played with Jamie and Tayla, Sky and Georgia M. I watched Kaed and Braden play cricket. After that me and Jamie watched Jade played on the monkey bars. Then we played together on the bridge. On Fridays we do discovery and I  made a fathers day card.

What we do at school sometimes

On Friday the magic bus came to our school. People got to have a turn on the drum set .I had two turns on it.
Stephen was good at the drums. I think he has all readey played the drums he's so good  People begged me to do it , Georgia and  Vidhya . The people that had a turn first went behind the bus and were screaming. It was annoying .This week we have been filming our puppet shows. The first time it did'nt work, we had to do it all over again. And this week we made a zoo  burst. It was fun  making a zoo burst. Georgia copied me on it .When we did the filming we had to keep our head down.I saw Taylas head. On Fridays we do discovery.  Today we did father day cards,tigers ,father day door hangers .Room2 has been filming too. They've been filming super heros so we have to be quiet.  It looks fun. .After that I played with Georgia,Sky, and Tayla.

Drums

I like the drums.  It was cool.  I liked it.  It was fun.   I got to have a turn  on  the drums .   My friend  did  not have a turn.  Some of my friends did not have a turn.  My  sister only had a turn at playtime.

Jamie brought her guitar to school. She wanted to practise before she played for us. We hope she will play for us soon.

Pirates

Pirates came into our room. They made a lot of noise. Some of us got a fright. We had to hide our pirate treasure that we were using for our maths. It's lucky that they didn't find it!

A Random Act of Kindness Day

Today I helped Braden when he fell over. I helped people be friends.
